IELTS Test Format
The IELTS test format consists of four sections: listening, reading, writing and speaking. Both IELTS Academic and IELTS General follow the same overall structure, but the reading and writing sections differ.

IELTS Listening Format
The listening test includes four sections. Each section becomes progressively more difficult. You hear the recordings once and answer questions while listening.

IELTS Reading Format
The reading test contains three passages. IELTS Academic uses academic texts, while IELTS General uses everyday and workplace texts.

IELTS Writing Format
The writing test includes two tasks. Task 1 differs between Academic and General IELTS. Task 2 is an essay in both versions.
