2. Exam Components & Assessment Structure

LanguageCert ESOL divides language assessment into two independent examination modules:

Written Exam (Listening, Reading, Writing)

Assesses 3 core communication skills:

Listening (~30–40 Mins): Multiple-choice and fill-in-the-gap items based on realistic conversations and presentations.
Reading & Writing (~2–2.5 Hours): Text comprehension followed by two structured composition tasks (formal/informal letters, essays, or reports).

Spoken Exam (Speaking Only)

Interactive 1-on-1 interview format:

Duration (~10–15 Mins): Direct live interaction with an interlocutor online or at an exam center.
4 Structured Parts: Personal info exchange, role-play communication, information exchange, and guided topic discussion.
